New York City Veterans Day Parade, November 11, 2020 (Because of the global COVID-19 pandemic, this was the first Veterans Day Parade without marchers or spectators. We had to arrive just before 5AM)
This is our founder’s Army truck at the staging area just before the start of the NYC Veterans Day Parade. Standing in the truck bed is our friend & SAR Flag supporter, U.S. Army Reserves Sergeant First Class, Greg Williams. Greg is also the Manager of Strategic Communication at the NYC Dept. of Veterans’ Services.

This is our founder along with the Mayor and Board of Trustees, of New Paltz, NY. On this night, the village of New Paltz introduced a Resolution in support of NY State Senate Bill S6712 to designate 9/22 as Veterans Suicide Awareness & Remembrance Day. Also in this photo are Veterans that served in Vietnam, Iraq & Afghanistan that showed up to support the SAR Flag and the resolution for September 22nd.

Inspired by the SAR Flag, NY State Senator Metzger introduced legislation to designate September 22nd as Veterans Suicide Awareness & Remembrance Day. By creating an annual observance, we recognize & remember those Veterans lost, elevate this issue in the public consciousness & bring attention to the need to work on prevention. On that day we can honor our Fallen Veterans & their Families and forever remember their life & service to our great nation.
Sail Ahead - Long Island Sound - Northport, New York ( July, 2019 )
This photo was taken at the 2019 Sail Ahead Event in Northport, New York. The mission of Sail Ahead is to use sailing and the ocean as a therapeutic platform to help heal PTSD suffering Veterans, and create PTSD and Veteran suicide awareness. There were 43 boats, 109 Veterans, 43 Skippers and over 140 guests, totaling over 350 people!
This is Ali & Chad Tucker and their kids, out of California. Chad lost his brother, Adam, an Air Force Veteran, to suicide in 2016. They now have a symbol to represent their loved one’s sacrifice, as well as Honoring Adam and their family. The Tucker family are now proud supporters of the SAR Flag.
